Atyrau University of Oil and Gas named after S. Utebayev has opened a branch of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, one of Russia’s leading industry-focused universities.
Through a dual degree program, top students can simultaneously earn Kazakhstani and Russian diplomas in fields such as construction and operation of oil and gas pipelines and storage facilities, oil and gas technologies, and reservoir geological modeling.
In 2022, 100 scholarships were allocated to the branch by Gubkin University.

Zhangir Khan University (formerly Ufa University) was established in 1963. West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University named after Zhangir Khan trains specialists in the fields of agriculture, agrotechnology, engineering, economics, management, and education.
In the future, the university plans to establish a partnership with the Ufa State Petroleum Technological University.
